Mysore : Cultural capital of Karnataka



Chamundeshwari Temple: Located on the top of Chamundi Hills, it was built in the 12th century by Hoysala rulers while its tower was built by the Vijayanagar rulers of the 17th century. The temple has a seven storey tall Gopura decorated with intricate carvings. The deity of the goddess is made of gold and the temple doors of silver.


The Nandi Statue: Over 15 feet high, and 24 feet long and around its neck are exquisite bells.
Dar ke aage jeet hai: The Annual Wrestling Event at Srirangapatna, with participation from in and around the town. A huge crowd pours in to cheer for the favourites.



Mysore Palace: Illuminated with more than 96,000 lights!
